Tables are held for up to 15 minutes past your booking time, if you are running late or unable to join us, please let us know as soon as possible.

Some bookings may require a card authentication of £10 per table to secure the booking, depending on the group size, type of event or at peak times. No money is taken from your account with a pre-authorisation; money will only be claimed if your entire group fails to show for the reservation.

We do not take bookings for major sporting events, and we do not take bookings of under 20 on the Saturdays. For group booking enquiries please get in touch to let us know your requirements bookings@pontcannainn.com

We have do not have a car park at The Pontcanna.  There is limited on street parking available nearby in the roads near the pub and the nearest car park is on Sophia Gardens Pay & Display about 3 mins walk from the venue.

Children are welcome in the pub until 10pm, unless they’re residents in the hotel.  All children should be accompanied by an adult.

The centre located in the Cardiff Bay area is the nation’s home to the performing arts, from musical theatre, to dance, comedy and cabaret. Admire the picture-perfect Red Castle which proudly sits overlooking Cardiff and the bay. Regularly voted by the public as their favourite building in Wales, this fantasy castle was built by Lord Bute and features a beautiful courtyard with lots of grounds to explore.From art to science, history to geology, local museums feature a whole collection of exhibitions, many of which can be explored for free!

One of Cardiff’s most popular parks, the stunning Roath Park is offers beautiful views both during the day and night, and boasts a number of glorious gardens to admire and roam through.

Cardiff Bay
Cardiff Bay is home to a number of great attractions including the Cardiff bay Wetland Reserve, Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre and Cardiff International White Water.  Tour the picturesque waterfront of Cardiff Bay and enjoy an array of boutiques, bars and restaurants, along with the incredible Millennium Centre.Visit the stunning St Fagans open-air museum and explore the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people. The grounds also include a number of beautiful gardens, ponds and fountains and is also home to St Fagans Castle.

Dogsare welcome in all areas of the pub, including in all hotel rooms. If you wishto bring your dog to stay in the hotel we charge £10 per dog, per night whenbooking through third parties.  Pleasebook direct for our best rates.

We can call you a taxi or direct you to the nearest bus stop, train station or coach station.

The Pontcanna is a 10-minute walk from the City Centre, which includes the Principality Stadium & historic Cardiff Castle.

Cardiff train station is a 20-minute walk away.

Our site is accessible from the front and back. We have a staircase leading to the hotel rooms, unfortunately we do not have a lift. We also have a night entrance on the side of the building for our hotel guests to come in and out during our out of hours.

We have several bookable areas in our venue including the Green Room, Restaurant area, front and back gardens. These areas are available for private functions.  Please get in touch if you are planning an event and our team will be happy to help to talk you through the various options available.  Our back garden is available for exclusive hire for groups of 100+. This area also hosts a food truck and private bar which can be booked in advance for your event.
