Pontcanna sits right on the edge of some of Cardiff’s best green spaces, so it’s a bit of a dream for dog walks. From leafy strolls through Bute Park to longer wanders along the Taff Trail, there’s plenty of space for stretching legs and burning off energy. And when walkies are done, you and your four-legged companion can head back upstairs to relax, refuel and put your paws up in one of our comfy rooms at Pontcanna Inn.
There’s plenty to see and do right on our doorstep, from lazy loops around Bute Park to longer adventures along the Taff Trail. That said, with comfy beds, a warm welcome and a proper settle-in vibe, your dog might decide the room is the real holiday and snooze straight through check-in and check-out.
Up to two well-behaved pups are welcome to stay with you in one of our dog-friendly bedrooms at Pontcanna Inn for an additional £20 per night. They’ll also receive a VIP welcome courtesy of one of our Happy Dog Hampers. Woof, woof 🐾
Our dog-friendly rooms are just as lovely for humans as they are for pups. Expect all the hotel-y extras you know and love, plus the added bonus of a proper pub just downstairs and some of Cardiff’s best green spaces right outside the door.
Your four-legged guest will receive a VIP welcome at Pontcanna Inn, complete with a doggy hamper full of tail-wagging treats, along with a comfy dog bed or blanket and a bowl. Consider it a home-from-home… with better walks.
1. Each of our dog-friendly bedrooms has space for up to 2 dogs. A dog stay is charged at £20 per night (whether there’s 1 or 2 dogs with you).
2. Your room will come with a fabulous doggy hamper full of tasty tail-wagging treats, a doggy bed or blanket and bowl. We know your pup might love their own doggy bed, so please feel free to bring this if you prefer.
3. Although most people’s days are brightened by seeing a dog, some aren’t, so please keep in this in mind and leave your pup on a lead in all shared areas.
4. We don’t like the idea of your pup getting lonely, so please don’t leave them unsupervised at any time.
5. We love it when a four-legged friend comes with a friend of their own, but 2 per room is our maximum.
6. It goes without saying that your dog loves long walkies. We do provide a dog blanket but if your pup has a penchant for muddy puddles, please bring an extra blanket for de-muddying.
7. We know your doggy might get comfy on the sofa at home, but while with us, please don’t let your pup sleep on beds and soft furnishings.
